When the ashes have settled and the leaves collected, there will undoubtedly be numerous individuals credited with North Carolina’s triumphant rise to global “music” dominance—iconic names such as the First Lady of Gospel Shirley Caesar, five time Grammy winner James Taylor, Hip Hop Superstar J. Cole, legendary R & B group Jodeci, Soul Sensations Anthony Hamilton and Calvin Richardson, and American Idol Great Fantasia Barrino. However, any list that did not include the incomparable R&B Artist/ Songstress they call “Je’Melody” would be grossly inaccurate.
I know, too high of praise for a singer many outside of the Carolinas have never heard of…but, think again. Rarely, if ever, has a performer hit the music scene with the “vocal ability, showmanship and downright irresistible charm” that the enchanting “Je’Melody” displays regularly with effortless poise.
Born Jetarika Shardae Pearson AKA “Je’Melody” in High Point, North Carolina, she grew up loving to look at the “stars” in the “sky” all the while knowing that one day her “star” would soon shine brightest. Relocating to Pennsylvania and later settling in Charlotte, North Carolina, a young “Je’Melody” would never lose her unyielding passion for entertaining others be it family members, friends, classmates, teammates, etc. Her fearlessness to bring both “smiles and joy” has never been far from her heart.
Entertainer personified “Je’Melody” is the living embodiment of the total package. Undeniable singer, thought provoking writer, electrifying performer, A1 rapper, and last but certainly not least arguably, the most “beautiful, tempting” musician the world has ever seen…bar none…she is Queen Je’Melody.
As hard a worker as she is drop-dead gorgeous is most evident in her jaw dropping “350” show performances and counting of which she’s shared the stage with numerous music superstars to include but not limited to: Juvenile, Ricco Barrino, DJ Luke Nasty, and Young Dro while her musical influences have come courtesy of industry heavyweights: “Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo,” and the late Greats “Aaliyah” and King of Pop “Michael Jackson.”
The “Queen” who reigns over the movement known as “Melody Mafia” is fit to rule an empire…Je’Melody.
